India Include Auqib Nabi in Full ODI Squad Following Prasidh Krishna's Absence
Squad Extension: Fast bowler Auqib Nabi has been added to India's squad for the first three ODIs against New Zealand. He was already named in the squad for the final two matches of the five-match series, and his inclusion now covers the entire tour.
Replacement Context: His full-series inclusion comes directly in the wake of Prasidh Krishna being ruled out of the ODIs to focus on recovering from a left hamstring injury.
Krishna is expected to join the India A squad for the third unofficial Test, which will take place concurrently to the ODI series. He pulled up with his hamstring injury in the same ODI Nabi made his debut in. Krishna "will need additional time to build up the workload required to be ready for matches," the BCCI said in an earlier statement. "[Skipping the ODIs] will give him an opportunity to gain match practice and prepare for the Test series."
Player Background & Schedule
International Experience: Nabi made his international debut during the second ODI against West Indies in September, finishing with figures of 0 for 84 in his ten-over spell.
Current Form: He is already in New Zealand with India A's red-ball squad, where he picked up six wickets in the first unofficial Test against New Zealand A.
Series Timeline: The five-match ODI series runs from November 4 to November 15, followed immediately by the two-Test series starting November 19.
