Former South Africa captain Mignon du Preez is relishing the prospect of creating havoc with Brisbane Heat's swashbuckling Harris sisters in the upcoming WBBL season. The 34-year-old powerful center request hitter joined the Intensity as an immediate designation for this WBBL season, after beforehand scoring 2292 competition runs for the Hobart Storms and Melbourne Stars in six seasons at a strike pace of 114. She resigned from global cricket last year following 15 years at the top, including a long stretch as South African captain. "I have played against the Harris sisters [Grace and Laura] and they have smacked the ball out of control," du Preez told AAP in the wake of flying into Brisbane on Wednesday. "I've been forced to bear that, so being in their group for a change and not playing against them will be great. The Intensity have been in the main four groups practically every contest I have played in the Enormous Slam and I have consistently respected them. "They seemed to be a lot of young ladies that appreciate each other's conversation here and there the field...and greenish blue is my number one tone." Du Preez has been named in the Intensity's crew of 14 to play three away games to begin the opposition, starting with the conflict against the Melbourne Mavericks on Friday. While not playing for South Africa any longer, she has still highlighted in a lot of cricket in different associations all over the planet. She means to play for the Intensity with the forceful methodology that has been her brand name. "I have been playing cricket since I was four years of age and it is most likely the main thing I know," du Preez said. "It was one of the hardest choices to back away from global cricket, yet when you realize all is good and well, you simply know. "I realize it is near the finish of my vocation, and I expect to have some good times as conceivable with the Intensity. I played in the CPL and the FairBreak Invitational competition recently. "As of late in South Africa our homegrown construction got professionalized and I'm contracted there and played over the course of the end of the week." Du Preez had been in visits with Intensity lead trainer Ashley Noffke and star player Georgia Redmayne about joining the group for the beyond two years. Her new colleagues are amped up for what du Preez brings to the table. "I am so stirred up. I've been sending her a few guileful messages to attempt to get her over for a couple of years," Redmayne told AAP. "Mignon is a super player and a super colleague to have around the gathering too. She is most likely the main run-scorer against the Intensity, so having her on our side is great."
