Babar, Rashid, Livingstone headline PSL 2022 retention list

Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi were the four establishments that used their full share of eight maintenances while Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators held seven players each as the maintenance, exchange and delivery window of PSL 2022 shut on Friday (December 10). In what will be a first for the association, the groups will be permitted one Right to Match Card each during the PSL draft which will occur on December 12. Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Imad Wasim were the Platinum class maintenances for Kings while Qalandars held Afghanistan legspinner Rashid Khan and Shaheen Afridi in the Platinum classification. 2019 bosses Gladiators, who got hold of James Vince (Platinum), Shahid Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed in the exchanging window, held Sarfaraz Ahmed as the other Platinum player. It will be Shahid Afridi's goodbye season in the PSL, with the veteran allrounder moving from Sultans. Current champions Sultans held Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw in the Platinum class while double cross bosses United who acquired Azam Khan by means of exchange held Asif Ali and advanced him as a Platinum player. Hasan Ali is the other Platinum maintenance for the United. Zalmi went for Liam Livingstone and Wahab Riaz as Platinum maintenances. According to the PSL rules, each establishment can have up to 18 players in their crew, remembering three each for Platinum, Diamond and Gold classifications, five Silver, two Emerging and up to two Supplementary classifications.
