Somerset skittle Hampshire for 123 to top South Group

Hampshire vs Somerset Somerset won the South Group clash on Monday (May 30) and topped the group, mainly thanks to the bowlers who restricted Hampshire to 123 all out in the first innings. Josh Davey picked three wickets which included the opening blow of Aneurin Donald in the second over of the match. From thereon, the wickets kept falling regularly as the hosts found themselves at 39/3 at the end of the PowerPlay. The highest partnership of the innings was 32 for the sixth wicket between Liam Dawson and James Fuller, the latter scoring 42 off 28 to lift the total beyond hundred. It was an easy-paced chase for Somerset, achieved with 4.1 overs to spare. Tom Lammonby top-scored with 33 after an 46-run opening stand between Tom Banton and Will Smeed, which set the tone as James Fuller's 2-23 didn't prove enough in the face of the small target.
