Tara Norris traded to Mumbai Indians from UP Warriorz ahead of WPL 2027

In advance of the WPL 2027 player auction, Mumbai Indians have acquired UP Warriorz's fast bowler Tara Norris from the United States. In an all-cash deal, Norris, who was signed by the Warriorz for INR 10 lakh in advance of the 2026 season, will join MI for the same amount. Since he played for Delhi Capitals in the WPL's inaugural season in 2023, Norris is no stranger to the competition. She became the first Associate player to play in the league and the first bowler to score five runs, both against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2023. She also became the first Associate player to win a match. In the 2023 season, Norris made five WPL appearances and took seven wickets for 26 runs at an economy rate of 4.33. She was then let go by the Capitals before the 2024 season, and she got her second job with UPW for the WPL 2026. However, she had to miss the tournament because she was called up to the USA team for the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, so she didn't play in that one. Norris has previously represented MI London in The Hundred earlier this year, making this his second association with an MI franchise. At the September 28 deadline, the Warriorz kept Norris, and the trade went through. MI has filled their overseas quota ahead of the auction on October 28 in Kochi as a result of the trade. Now that they have INR 90 lakh to spend and a maximum of six slots to fill, they will enter the auction. In the meantime, the Warriorz now have INR 3.75 million available to spend on a maximum of eight players, three of whom can be international signings.
