Gull Feroza penalised for ICC Code of Conduct breach
For violating the ICC Code of Conduct during Pakistan's Women's Asia Cup match against Hong Kong in Dubai on Monday (September 7), Gull Feroza has been fined 10% of her match fee.
According to the ICC Code of Conduct, Feroza was found guilty of violating Article 2.8, which deals with expressing disagreement with an umpire's decision. After being declared lbw in the fifth over of Pakistan's innings, the player displayed dissension by indicating an inside edge with a gesture to her bat.
Feroza was also handed a demerit point for the offence. This is the 27-year-old's second demerit point in the 24-month window. The first one was during the recent T20 World Cup in England during a match against Australia. Since Feroza admitted to the offence, a formal hearing wasn't needed after the sanction.
