IPL 2027: BCCI calls stakeholders for review meeting on October 15

On October 15, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled a gathering of all IPL stakeholders. The call follows the decision taken at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to conduct the next edition of the IPL on a grand scale. “We have invited all the stakeholders of the IPL, including franchise owners, broadcasters and hosting state associations,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told on Friday, confirming the meeting. "It is a follow-up to our earlier decision to conduct the IPL's 20th season on a grand scale," the statement reads. It is expected that the 13 state associations that normally host IPL games have been invited to the meeting. In addition, JioStar representatives, the broadcaster in this instance, have been invited. The venue has not yet been finalised, but given the expected turnout, the meeting will likely be held outside the BCCI headquarters. The location has not yet been decided upon. We have just narrowed down a few choices. We will take a final call soon,” the BCCI secretary added. It is understood that the meeting will take place at the Taj Santacruz on October 15 at six o'clock. “As the league approaches its landmark 20th season in 2027, the BCCI proposes to convene a joint meeting of all key stakeholders, namely the State associations that hosted IPL matches, the Franchise owners and their Chief Executive Officers and the Broadcasters. In his letter to the state associations that own this website, Saikia wrote, "The meeting is intended to review the issues and learnings from the previous seasons, address any concerns, and deliberate on the planning and coordination for the 2027 season." Saikia continued, writing, "We look forward to your presence and valuable inputs and to working together toward making the 20th season of the IPL a truly memorable one." "The State Associations play a central role in the successful staging of the League," she wrote. "Your perspective on matters of hosting, venue operations, and match-day coordination will be of great value to these deliberations."
