Oman Secure 2027 World Cup Qualifier Spot Despite Loss to UAE
Qualifying Secured: Oman have secured their spot at the 2027 Men's World Cup Qualifier despite a 42-run defeat against the UAE in their final World Cup League 2 match in Dubai.
Tied on Points: Oman finished their campaign on a seven-match losing streak, ending level with Namibia on 33 points, but clinched the final direct qualifying spot superior net run rate.
The Qualifier Playoff will be the last chance for teams to advance to the World Cup, with four places up for grabs. A 10-team Global Qualifier will then determine the final four places at the World Cup. A win at the Global Qualifier will also secure one team's direct entry to the group stage of the World Cup, while the teams finishing second, third and fourth will enter the newly formed Super Series.
