Workload and Recovery: Prasidh Krishna Ruled Out of New Zealand ODIs to Focus on Tests

Prasidh Ruled Out: Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of India's five-match ODI series in New Zealand as he continues his recovery from a left hamstring injury. Workload Management: According to the BCCI, Prasidh requires additional time to build up the necessary match workload. Instead of the ODIs, he will join the India A squad for the third (and final) four-day game against New Zealand A to gain match practice ahead of the Test series. Nitish Kumar Reddy, meanwhile, will stay with the ODI squad for the first game, on November 4, and then link up with the A squad for the final four-day game, from November 7, "which will help him gain match practice" for the Test series," the BCCI said. He had originally been named for the entire ODI series but, with the Test series crucial for India from the point of view of the WTC, game time with the red ball is likely to help him more. No Replacement Named: The team has not named a replacement for Prasidh, who previously picked up the injury after bowling five overs in the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati on September 30. Additional Team News & Schedule Mohammed Siraj: Mohammed Siraj will be available to play in the second four-dayer for India A. Nitish Kumar Reddy: Nitish Kumar Reddy will stay with the ODI squad for the opening match on November 4 before moving over to the India A squad for the final four-day fixture starting November 7 to prepare for the Tests. Test & ODI Timeline: The ODI series runs from November 4 to November 15, followed immediately by the two-Test series beginning on November 19. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is also expected to feature in the final four-day match before joining the Test squad.
