CSK trade Khaleel Ahmed and Ellis to SRH for Livingstone and Jack Edwards

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have completed a four-player trade deal that will see Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards move to CSK, with Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis heading in the opposite direction. On Thursday, November 5, the trade was confirmed by the BCCI. CSK were exploring the option of bringing in Livingstone. After initially being acquired by SRH for INR 13 crore during the IPL 2025 mini-auction, the England batter will now join CSK for a reduced fee of INR 6 crore. Edwards, meanwhile, will move at his existing fee of INR 3 crore. Having won the title with RCB in IPL 2025, Livingstone featured in just two games for SRH in the subsequent season. Edwards, on the other hand, did not get a game in IPL 2026. Two fast bowlers whose seasons last year were cut short by injuries are moving to SRH. Nathan Ellis was expected to fill the death-bowling role for CSK in place of Matheesha Pathirana but, after being signed for INR 2 crore, was ruled out of the entire season with a hamstring injury sustained at the domestic One-Day Cup final ahead of the IPL season. He was subsequently replaced by Spencer Johnson. Khaleel, on the other hand, played in five games for CSK before getting hurt in his quadriceps. He returns to SRH, whom he represented between 2018 and 2021.
